About Me
Hi! My name is Agnes and this is my story....
My Love for Animals
I grew up on a farm...
...before coming to Canada at the age of 6. We had dogs, sheep, chickens; you name it. Our urban Toronto living did not allow for many pets so we always had budgies instead. Growing up, I always wanted to ride horses and have a dog. Fast forward 20 years later, I am living my dream. I teach horse-riding lessons part-time and walk, train and take care of dogs full-time.
My Passion
I was born to take care of animals
I had a few professional office jobs in my 20’s and every couple of years I deep dive into a full-fledged lifestyle and job with animals. The older you get the more you know yourself and cannot resist your true passion. I can tell you wholeheartedly I was born to take care of animals. No amount of office experience or University schooling could change that.
My Experience
I have over a decade worth of experience...
...as a dog sitter and 3 years of professional dog walking. These have taught me how to read dogs, properly socialize them, keep them safe and most importantly it has taught me a great deal of love & patience. I am currently working on adding to my skill-set and can also provide dog training with basic things such as sit & leash manners to more advanced training such as recall, leave it, place & threshold/impulse control.
My Education
I'm working towards my dog trainer certification
For 3 years I worked for a reputable Etobicoke dog walking company, that has been around for over a decade. Here I learned about the different personalities and behaviours of a variety of dogs. I know the names of all the breeds and can usually guess how one type of breed will act in a situation. Having been around dogs, horses and birds my entire life, I have developed a keen sense and intuition around them, which I think they can sense as well. I am working towards certification in Dog Training called Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed, so that I can further my education on these wonderful animals.
